Kara Jo has been a doula since 2008 and has helped hundreds of families have empowered, beautiful birth experiences. She holds a B.S. in psychology and is a currently a graduate student pursuing her Master’s in Counseling. Kara Jo has long been passionate about supporting women and families along their journey, and is known for her calming presence, encouragement, and gentle listening. She has enjoyed doula-ing for many midwives and physicians for their own babies’ births, and has been invited by a number of area hospitals to assist with staff/RN education in supporting physiologic birth and healthy breastfeeding practices. She also has a special love for supporting families in need of a more healing birth experience after trauma.
Kara Jo is a mom to four children. In her free time she enjoys music, playing in a local flute choir, reading, running and hiking, time with girlfriends, and involvement in her church and volunteer organizations that feed the hungry, protect the vulnerable, and welcome the outsider.
