For Perspective...

DSC_3754.jpg

The average rate for seasoned doulas in our area ranges from approximately $1200-$1800+. Many doulas simply charge everyone a higher rate, whether their birth is 4 hours or 40. We choose to keep our rates lower, and only charge an additional fee for the occasional longer birth. (In our many years of experience, we’ve averaged about one birth per year in our “additional fee” range.)

We’ve all heard of (and maybe experienced) 24+ hour marathon births. Many of those births include early labor at home before doula support is desired. Surprisingly even a 24+ hour birth still rarely utilizes more than 18 hrs of in-person support & 1-2 hrs postpartum.

We don’t want you to worry about racking up endless charges so we cap overtime modestly for your peace of mind. If you’re budgeting, the most you might ever pay for your birth, even a 40+ hr one, is only $1600.
